I don’t want to sow suspicion or distrust on what the results of the coming elections will be but have you noticed that the official website of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is down for several days already.

COMELEC Website Down

Only 36 days before the Election Day, isn’t it ironic that the COMELEC cannot even maintain their website? I think it is only natural that ordinary citizen/voter like me to doubt their capability to run an automated election which is somewhat technical.

If simply maintaining a website is becoming a problem to them, what more when election day comes, wherein hackers (either hired by crook politicians or someone who just wanted to sabotage the system) would try to intercept the transmission of results?

I noticed the issue when I tried to verify if I’m still a registered voter. I made a post last year that there is COMELEC online verification wherein anyone can check if he/she is registered. You can check out the Official Website URL and see for yourself.
