Harapan 2010 Vice presidential debate was aired last Sunday, March 21, 2010. It was a live simulcast at ABS-CBN, ANC and Studio 23.

Six candidates had accepted the network’s invitation namely Binay, Fernando, Legarda, Roxas, Sonza and Yasay.

The clash of long time “kontrapelo” Jojo Binay and Bayani Fernando highlighted the forum. Watch the video here:

I am disappointed with the format. ABS-CBN earlier said that it would highlight each candidates platform of government however, they had made hardcore rivals go head to head like “Binay vs Bayani” and “Loren vs Mar”.


Naturally, you don’t expect one to ask something that would make your opponent’s answer positive. Of course, you will be throwing accusations to discredit your rival. And that’s what happened.

It would be better if they set the groupings by random, not just Binay vs Bayani or Mar vs Loren all throughout.

They could use an online randomizer. One example is http://www.random.org/

By then, Binay could have the chance to ask Mar or Loren, Bayani could ask Sonza or Yasay.

Just a thought, ang problema na squatter sa Makati ay di dapat isisi kay Binay lahat. Because of Makati City’s benefits, naturally it would be the target of those wanting to live in the city or those professional squatters.

Kung iskwater ako, gugustuhin ko magtayo ng barung-barong sa Makati. Why? Because I can avail of FREE and quality education and other benefits. We have a neighbor here in Oas, Albay, sabi ng guardian ng bata, dun muna sya sa tito nya sa makati kase lahat libre. Imagine having people with that same kind of thinking, the number of informal settlers will rise for sure.

Bayani asked why squatters were not given buildings in Makati. That’s so ridiculous! Mag-squat na lang ako kung bibigyan ng condo units ang iskwater sa Makati. lol
