Saudi Arabia Nursing: POEA Nursing Jobs Abroad

My Great Web page

Applying for work abroad is not an easy thing to do especially for fresh grads or those with no experience yet. In the Philippine scenario, there is job mismatch and there are not enough hospital jobs to accommodate the number of graduates each year.

Now, if you have the required experience, there are lots of fake recruiters that will give offer that is hard to resist. So always make sure to check whether the Agency is accredited by POEA or if their accreditation is not yet expired.

Some agencies are exploiting newly registered nurses by giving employment offers with very low salary. Basic salary for nurses in Saudi should be SR 2,250. So if someone is offering you a salary lower than that, please do not accept.

I am quite disappointed with PESO Legazpi (a government arm that is supposed to look after the welfare of nurses abroad) which offered a basic salary of twenty one thousand pesos (Php21,000) only. Again, evaluate first before grabbing any offers.

My girlfriend has a pending contract with EVA Care group through IPAMS but because there is currently no visa number available for Professional immigrants in US, she tried applying for Middle East employment through POEA. Now, she’s just waiting for her Visa.

Here’s the good news! (FOR NURSES and health care professionals ONLY)

Currently, the Saudi Ministry of Health is still in need for more Nurses. As far as I can remember they will need 3000 Female Nurse Specialists and 3000 or more Female General Ward Nurses. They also need Respiratory Therapists, X-Ray technicians, Pharmacists and etc. Another set of delegates from Saudi will come this June (or earlier) to conduct an interview for qualified applicants.

Here are the lists of requirements for Nurses who want to get employed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:

1. College diploma/ High School Diploma

2. PRC board rating

3. PRC board certificate

4. Transcript of records

5. Valid PRC license

6. Employment certificate/s (of at least 2 years work experience in one position)

7. Valid NBI clearance (click here for NBI Clearance requirements and its new location in Caloocan City)

8. Valid Passport

9. 2×2 pictures (6 copies)

10. Resume (with detailed job description)

11. Training/ skills certificate

12. OMA Certificate (for Muslim applicants)

Bring a cream/white folder and a fastener. Then submit photocopies of these documents and present your original documents in Window M.

Take note that POEA employees will not accept your papers unless you present the originals and you have “complete requirements”. Also make sure that if you are presenting a training/volunteer certificate as your work experience, it should be at least a year of training.

Once your documents are accepted you will be instructed to go to the Computer room and fill out an electronic application form.

You can register in advance for your convenience. Just take note of your Registration Number which looks like this: “200906-006735”

To register, go to POEA website: http://www.poea.gov.ph/ and click on the E-registration section at the left side of the page. You can go directly to http://www.eregister.poea.gov.ph/ereg/ereg.asp to register.

POEA Manpower Registry System

If you have registered before but you forgot your username or password, you can ask the person in charge to look for your registration number as well as your forgotten password. Ask for assistance from this very friendly employee if you have any concerns regarding registration.

Then you will have to present the registration number to Window M and a registration card will be given to you.

You will be notified through a text message about the date of your examination and interview at the Saudi Recruitment Office in Makati City.

Be prepared and be on time. Good luck!

POEA should make it clear to all applicants the whole picture of the working situation there.. Applicants assignment can either be in hospital or clinics like Primary Health Care Centers.

lindy August 28, 2010 at 9:44 PM

can u pls…review those who registered in this site..almost 3months i am waiting..until nw no response…

admin August 29, 2010 at 9:47 AM

@lindy: You can follow-up in their office. I know your situation din. Kagaya ng gf ko, pababalik balik sya sa Makati to follow up ang grabe yung hassle kase we are from the province, so magastos talaga yung pagluwas. Malaki pa nga yung nagastos sa pagfollow up at paghihintay kesa sa application.

jonesuy May 31, 2011 at 7:05 PM

hello, what should be done to those employers exploiting the nurses by giving less offer?and changing d contract after?or asking to work nurses more than d desired time? its existing here, im in saudi and nurses r exploited…poor services given to us.

venus June 9, 2011 at 3:21 PM

hi i worked in Saudi for almost 20 years,i resigned and stayed home for 4yrs,now i ,wanted to go back to work in Saudi under the Ministry of Health, but i am disappointed when i learned that the required age is not more than 45yrs old..i am 53yrs old now, Help! I need to look for work now,i want to work abroad(saudi) but what will i do,i think its unfair for us who are qualified, well experienced nurses and very willing to work , were not given a chance just because of this AGE LIMIT posted by MOH!!!

JENY June 26, 2011 at 6:30 AM

NOW SAUDI ARABIA IS IMPLEMENTING SAUDIZATION EVEN IN MINISTRY OF HEALTH IS NOT EXCEPTION FOR SAUDIZATION.SO THINK TWICE BEFORE APPLYING CAUSE A LOT HAVE STOP WORKING NOW BECAUSE OF ERETRENCHMENT. MANY OF THEM ARE STILL WAITING IF THEY ARE TO BE ABSORBED BY HOP.
