Mutya ng Ibalong 2009: Ibalong Festival Celebration

Last Saturday, October 24, 2009, my girlfriend and I decided to spend the night at Legazpi City to unwind, hoping to catch some activities in line with the Ibalong Festival celebration. Last year we had the chance to watch the street presentation.

It was quite disappointing to see that downtown Legazpi was quiet and no street parties were scheduled. It was like a ghost town as early as 8PM. Gaisano mall was already closing.

We looked for a place to stay before having dinner but all hotels were fully booked due to the scheduled entrance examination for the PNP for civilians and promotional examination from Police Officer to Police Superintendent the following day.

We decided to have our dinner at a resto near the provincial capitol where bands regularly play. We ordered breaded pork chop (pork chop na naman? =) hahaha) and mango ref cake for dessert. We were about to leave the place but luckily I had the chance to talk to the organizers of Mutya ng Ibalong. They were very approachable and they’ve let me meet the Mutya ng Ibalong 2009 Candidates inside the restaurant’s holding room.

A familiar face among the candidates is Suzain Aguilar, host of MagTV Na Oragon.

Here are some photos:

Coronation night will be held on October 29, 2009 (7:30 PM) at Albay Astrodome.

See you there.

PS:

Thanks to the organizers of the pageant. Sorry, I didn’t get your names. Hope you could contact me if you see this post.

Also thanks to my girl friend’s college classmates who let us stay in their room at Tanchuling Hotel. We would have spent the night in the streets! Lol!
