Today, September 9, 2009, Noynoy Aquino formally declares his presidential bid. All news channel are covering the said press conference cutting off their regular programming. He made the announcement at the Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan City, the same place where his late mother took her oath as president in 1986.

His candidacy was said to be the result of peoples’ clamor for him to run after ex-President Cory Aquino’s death.

Noynoy Aquino spent some time for a spiritual retreat at Carmelite Sisters’ convent at Zamboanga City to help him decide whether it is time to heed the calling of the people.

Present in that press conference were Liberal Party members like Senators Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, Francis Pangilinan, former Sen. Franklin Drilon, Rodolfo Biazon, Butch Abad, former Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz.

Noynoy’s sister were also present and Ballsy was given the time to make a short statement and showed their family’s support for his candidacy. Kris Aquino and James Yap were also on the background.

He was asked whether Mar Roxas would be his running mate but no definite answers were made.

Today is 09/09/09, do you think it would be a lucky number?

I will wait a little longer (or watch the whole video of his declaration) to say my opinion because I want to hear his stands on issues such as poverty, corruption, education, etc. It is not easy being a president because he will take care millions of Filipinos.

As of now, I just simply wish him the best.

top of mind, while Noynoy has massive popularity to win for the presidential post on 2010, he has yet to step out of his parents’ shadows.

Maybe its his fate to follow the footsteps of his great parents. If he wins, we’re not sure if he will please everybody, but we are definitely sure he has a genuine and honest heart and what he will do is for the country’s betterment.

Noynoy, ituloy natin ang laban!

wish him all the best.

I think Sen. Noynoy is going to win the 2010 elections even if it’s a little late for him when he announced his candidacy. The fame of Sen. Noynoy’s parents and the love of the Filipinos to the Aquino Family is certainly a good head start for him. Sen. Noynoy’s decision to run was influenced by the mass and therefore the mass already chose him and already believes in his leadership expertice.

Most of us are under the impression NoyNoy is by far the most obvious option for the presidency in the Philippines, not necessarily due to the fact he is the child of heroes Cory and Benigno Aquino but because he is the reduced evil within the candidates. For sure we can explore with regards to the Hacienda Luisita killings but in the end of the day his competitors include significantly a whole lot worse records. He remains true to his anti-corruption plan, and between the other people competing for presidency he doesn’t have a corruption issues. We met him one time on a get together, he seems so great and clever and let me add a suitable guy also.
