CHR Commissioner Coco Quisumbing had gone ballistic over the media people who asked for an impromptu interview about the updates on the recent police torture video. The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) is currently investigating the said issue.
As a former media practitioner and as a daughter of former Supreme Court Justice Leonardo Quisumbing and former CHR Chair Purificacion Quisumbing, she could have handled the situation better. The scene looked like a teacher scolding grade one pupils who cannot understand simple instructions.
In my own opinion, it was worse than the police torture video itself (of course an exaggeration). But I just can’t imagine how a poor fellow would be entertained when he/she asks for assistance from the Commission on Human Rights, if its Commissioner is acting inhumane. I would definitely walk out if I was one of the mediamen in that press conference.
Being ill-tempered is not an excuse in the public service.
