XB Gensan of General Santos City was declared the first grand winner of Showtime, a pre-noontime variety show airing on ABS-CBN which premiered October 24, 2009. The season ran for 9 months. The show is very successful despite some controversies and MTRCB suspension. The rival network has even created a similar show format on the same time slot.
The grand winner took home 1 million pesos.

What made it interesting is the fact that XB Gensan and Boyz Unlimited Dancers were among the wildcards winners held last week but placed 1st and 3rd respectively.
The unevictable judge, Vice Ganda, scored perfect 10s for 4 groups: Philippine Islands Assassins, Enlighten Black Theatre Group, Boyz Unlimited Dancers and the champion, XB Gensan.
My favorite performance were those of Philippine Islands Assassins, XB Gensan and Boyz Unlimited Dancers which really had great audience impact.
