Last Monday, I left my house to watch the Sorcerer’s Apprentice starring Nicolas Cage at A. Bichara Silverscreen but Beary Frierson was acting strange when I was back.
Beary did not greet me as he usually does. He did not accompany me to the stairs and did not insist to enter the sala.
The next morning was even weird. Beary was shy to mingle with Amanda, his best friend. They were the closest buddies that I’ve known. Beary was then afraid of people and skipped all his meals. He took shelter in the piles of coco lumber stocked beside the house or the drainage area at the back.
Now, Beary Frierson is Dead. I suspect that he was poisoned when I was away. Some say he was tricked to eat something with “vetsin” or monosodium glutamate (MSG) due to the symptoms that he has shown. Others say he was hit or had eaten “Mindoro frog” which is poisonous.
I’m not really sure what happened.
I miss him now and my family will miss him more in the coming days. Although he was fond of biting and destroying slippers (more or less he destroyed a dozen pairs), we love him a lot. He was a great guard at a very young age. We are still coping from a death of a pet!
