Yesterday, I featured the opening of the world’s famous FIFA World Cup 2010. I believe sports enthusiasts from the Philippines have traveled to South Africa to watch it live. I wish I could watch the game live too.

First game was played between South Africa (the host country) and Mexico.

Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the first goal of the 2010 World Cup, putting South Africa up 1-0 over their opponent. Watch that amazing goal on Youtube:

Notice that sound on the background? It’s the sound of a vuvuzela, a blowing horn, approximately one meter in length, commonly blown by fans at football matches in South Africa.

It’s like the sound of those locusts on sci-fi films I used to watch when I was a kid. =)
