Jojo Binay and Mar Roxas are now tied at 37% in the latest SWS Survey and that’s according to alleged biased network, the ABS-CBN.

(Note: This might be a biased post because I am a supporter of Jejomar Binay – he is my fraternity brod in the University of the Philippines).

The latest survey result is really expected because he is the only candidate with foundation on the grassroots. He has machinery in every part of the country, in almost all barangays. The fraternity (established in the 1950′s in the Philippines) has chapters in almost all the colleges in the country.
And he does not need to PAY any centavo for his volunteers to move.
Only Jejomar Binay has consistent, steady rise in the survey in almost all survey firms (not just SWS, CIG and Pulse Asia).
Although Chiz Escudero’s endorsement might have helped the rise of Binay’s spot on the surveys, he cannot take full credit for it. Brods started to campaign for Mayor Binay as early December last year. We are consistently doing house-to-house and postering in the barangays as soon as the official campaign started.
In reality, Jejomar Binay is EASY to sell to the electorate. Results and action speaks louder than promises. You do not need to convince people to vote for him. Accomplishments and experience as a local chief executive has great convincing power. He was awarded World Mayor in 2006.
No wonder why Gibo-Binay (GiBi) tandem here in Albay is strong.
It’s true, many accusations are thrown to Binay’s camp, but who doesn’t have any controversies? And I won’t deal with that in this post (sabi nga ni Gibo, positive campaigning lang tayo).
One thing I admire about this person is his courage. While other candidates never disclose their fraternal organizations, Binay is proud to wear fraternity shirts and seals in his campaign sorties. Other members have advised him not to use “APO” because he might lose the support of rival groups but he insisted to be vocal and open about it. He even thanked his brods and sisses on public TV.
Binay firmly believes that he should disclose his affiliations as a public servant. Everything should be transparent. Contrary to what other advisers expected, he has even earned the respect of rival fraternity members.
Jojo Binay is evidence that fraternities are not about violence. Fraternal organizations are about developing leaders and public servants, a testament to our cardinal principles “leadership, friendship and service”.
His courage to show the world that he is a fratman of the University of the Philippines has uplifted the morale of several members of different fraternities in the bad light.
He is also a great example that anyone can succeed in life despite hardships in life.
If ever he succeeds, he might have the chance to be like our brother, Bill Clinton. Our hopes are high but I believe he is gentleman enough to accept defeat unlike other candidates.

Some may not agree with my opinion, but like you, I am hoping for a better Philippines. And I believe Jejomar Binay is the most suitable candidate.
